Seamless SORA Network Staking Now Accessible in Fearless Wallet’s Latest Update: Easy Validator Nomination Enabled by Community Grant.

  • As of the latest fearless release, the native SORA network is now available in the staking section of the Fearless Wallet
  • Nominating your favorite validator has become much easier and more intuitive
  • SORA native staking is available thanks to the community grant awarded to Fearless Wallet to implement SORA network support

From the scope of work provided by the Fearless Wallet team to add SORA compatibility, native staking has been a much-requested feature. Gone are the days when you needed to access Dotapps.io to validate transactions on the SORA network or nominate your favorite validators.

Similar to the flow used to nominate Polkadot and Kusama validators, using Fearless Wallet will be a breeze, allowing you to stake on your favorite node or use suggested validators. If you haven’t already, this is another excellent reason to download Fearless Wallet.

Here is a quick guide to SORA network staking on Fearless Wallet;

With XOR in hand, navigate to the Staking section of your wallet.

Tap on the network selector under the Staking header and choose SORA Mainnet.

Provide the staking amount and select your preferred reward output. No matter which option you choose, you will obtain the same result since rewards for staking are paid out in VAL tokens. Please note that in our upcoming release, we will be removing the ‘Restake’ option for a more streamlined user experience.

The reward process is automated, meaning you will receive your earnings automatically once your nominator distributes them.

As with other networks available for Fearless staking, you can select suggested validators or choose your own if you have a trusted validator that you are already familiar with. You will also see within the Fearless staking UI if your nominated validator is no longer in the active validator set.

In this case, we have chosen a custom validator, RingRound. After selecting it from the list, it will be added to your list; remember, you can nominate/select up to 24 validators.

After confirming the network fees and verifying that all the details are correct, tap confirm, and you will be successfully nominating SORA network validators!

But what if you were already nominating validators through dotapps.io? No worries, if you are using the same account, your validators will appear automatically, and you will be able to increase, decrease or remove your stake.

Let’s add another XOR to Ring Round.

After navigating to the staking view and selecting the validator, you will find the following options.

Tap on ‘Stake more’ and then input the amount you want to stake. You will then receive a confirmation message to verify the new stake and the network fees.

As you can see, the network fees to increase or decrease your stake are much lower than those to start staking, so consider this when allocating funds. Tap confirm, and that’s it! You have just increased your stake!

Thanks to Fearless Wallet, managing your validators has become much easier. Please let us know if you have any issues with this feature on our Support Channel or would like to suggest more fearless improvements in our Telegram Community.
